Welcome to Our Life Rocks — our little corner of the internet where we document the places we go, the things we make, the stuff we discover, and all the memories we collect along the way.
We’re a husband and wife team, best friends, adventure partners, occasional bad influences on each other, and firm believers that life is way too short to spend all of it sitting at home.
We’re not full-time travelers, professional influencers, or people who have everything figured out. We’re just two people trying to squeeze as much fun, laughter, adventure, and living as possible into the time we have.
And somewhere along the way, Our Life Rocks was born.
That pretty much sums up what this site is all about.
We love to travel, especially when we can load up the RV and hit the road without being in too much of a hurry to get anywhere. Sometimes the destination is a campground a few hours away. Sometimes it’s a place we’ve wanted to see for years. And sometimes the best part of the trip turns out to be something we never planned at all.
We love mountains, campgrounds, small towns, historic places, hiking trails, roadside oddities, hidden gems, good food, and anything that makes us say, “Well… we’ve never done that before.”
Our bucket list keeps getting longer instead of shorter — and we’re perfectly okay with that.
We want to see incredible places, try new things, dig for diamonds, explore caves and waterfalls, hunt for treasures, hike somewhere beautiful, wander through places with a story, and occasionally do something ridiculous simply because it sounds like fun.
The goal isn’t to check off a list as quickly as possible.
It’s to collect stories.
Adventure is only part of who we are.
We’re also creative people who genuinely enjoy making things.
Our projects can involve woodworking, laser engraving, CNC work, photography, video, websites, electronics, technology, crafts, home projects, or some strange idea that started with one of us saying:
“You know what would be cool?”
That sentence has probably cost us a lot of money over the years.
Justin tends to gravitate toward technology, electronics, software, photography, gadgets, and figuring out how things work. Lynn brings her own creativity, ideas, style, and perspective to the mix — and frequently makes sure Justin's latest brilliant idea doesn't get completely out of hand.
Together, we make a pretty good team.
Our adventures aren't always just the two of us.
Family and friends are a huge part of our lives, and some of our favorite memories come from having people we love along for the ride.
That includes Mom, who has become part of the traveling crew and proves that adventures don't have an age limit.
Sometimes it's two of us. Sometimes it's three. Sometimes friends pull up in another RV and turn a simple weekend trip into one of the best weekends of the year.
The cast may change from adventure to adventure, but the idea stays the same:
Go somewhere. Do something. Laugh a lot. Make a memory.
At first, we simply wanted a place to keep track of our travels and memories.
But we realized we wanted something more than a traditional travel blog.
We wanted a place for our life.
So this site became a home for our adventures, photos, videos, projects, bucket-list ideas, favorite products, useful discoveries, and whatever else we happen to get ourselves into.
Some posts may take you along on an RV trip.
Others might show you something we're building.
We might share a place we discovered, something we bought that turned out to be surprisingly useful, a video of our latest adventure, or an idea that sounded questionable but somehow worked.
There really aren't many rules.
If it's part of our story, it belongs here.
We know there will eventually come a day when we'll look back at all of this very differently.
The RV trips.
The weekends away.
The projects scattered across the garage.
The pictures.
The videos.
The places we visited.
The stupid jokes nobody else understands.
The things that went exactly according to plan — and the things that went spectacularly off
the rails.
Those are the things that make a life.
This site is our way of saving a little piece of them.
We're not waiting for retirement, the perfect schedule, or someday to start enjoying life. We're enjoying the journey we're on now while looking forward to all the adventures still ahead.
There are a lot of places we haven't seen.
A lot of things we haven't tried.
A lot of projects we haven't built.
And probably quite a few questionable decisions we haven't made yet.
So stick around and follow along.
